Listen to music: Music has always been the first thing I do when I start writing. Music makes you focus on the task at hand it also opens up your creative side. It makes you happy and it also boosts Ideas and keeps your brain in an optimum state. I like to listen to music by Sia, Lewis Capaldi and Imagine Dragons but it also depends on the books I am writing.

Read stories: Reading other peoples books can give you ideas. I know what some of you might be thinking that this tactic is “copying” other peoples work but I am here to tell you to cool your tits. No idea is completely original apart from the first book to ever be made. But as a writer, you won’t be the first person to have written an idea like the one you are writing. This doesn’t mean you can copy word for word of someone else book but you can use a situation that is in there book for yours. For example, I am currently reading The Savior's Champion by Jenna Moreci and her book has helped me come up with ideas that I will use in my future dark fantasy novel. I won’t be using her ideas word for word but I will be using some scenarios which I think fit in my book.

Be active: Being active doesn’t necessarily mean running or going to the gym when I say be active I mean do anything. You can cook, you can clean, you can go for a walk or you could just rest and listen to music. Being active means you can experience your world and if you are lucky you will have an idea pop into your head and it might not even have to do with what activity you are doing but it helps trust me. The thing I do to motivate myself if walking and listening to music.

Surround yourself with other writers: Being around other writers is a great way to feel motivated because you are in a room where everyone is writing and if makes you want to write too. Before you tell me anything like you have no friends who are writers or you don’t know any writers worry not because if you go onto youtube and find and subscribe to lots of writing channels many of them do lives. I would recommend Jenna Moreci when she does lives she does a sprint where she gives you a certain time to do some work like 15 minutes and everyone in the chat will write. This will ensure you surround yourself with other writers and you can still get the motivation just as you would if you have a group of writers around you.

Write: Before you have a go at me and tell me that this is the reason you came onto this video, hear me out. When I have trouble being motivated and none of these tactics works I just write. It doesn’t have to be your novel it would be any old crap. I write short stories they are awful but the reason for them isn’t to be published it’s for them to motivate you to write.

I hope these tips worked! Thank you for reading my blog. Let me know if there is any other topic you would like me to write about. Have a great day/evening/night. Love ya!
